Mindfulness With Music Practice:
- Find a quiet place to listen to your favorite tunes with headphones.
- Make yourself comfortable, lay down or sit upright in a relaxed position. Make sure your in comfortable clothing and you feel warm enough.
- Take a few deep breaths to allow your mind and body to relax and settle.
- Bring deliberate attention to the music: start by picking a single instrument or melody to follow through the entirety of the tune. Listening like this, narrowing your attention, can be very soothing as your mind divests from anxious thoughts.
- Experiment with listening to other instruments, and see how many sounds and tracks you can pursue throughout the entire song. You may be surprised at how much you can notice.
